Title: 1937-1948 cadillac parts for sale
Post by: Robert A. Morris on May 14, 2009, 06:13:31 PM
I recently came into some parts for 1937-1948 Cadillac in addition to some of the stuff I have. As usual for most of us space is a problem plus I have a fair number of "candles on the cake" if you catch my drift. The parts have to go. Mostly mechanical items including, fuel pumps, both AC480 and AC575, carburetors, strongburg and carter, water pump, genarators, starters, porcelain manifolds, a NOS 6volt negative ground switchlock coil, a very rare 6volt positive ground 5 post voltage regulator #5817 used on 1937 Cadillac series 60 or 1937 LaSalle series 50. More stuff and I'm making a list. Have some chrome parts for 1941 and later but doesn't look anything exotic. Call me at (716)694-9830 or email me at toycarsgt@aol.com for information and needs or wants and I will try to help. Prices will vary but reasonable. I also have some literature, mostly prewar shop manuals,(WWII).

I am looking for  the key assembly/and shielded wire from the dash board key to the distributor.  I am assuming the wire and length would be the same for a 37 LaSalle.  Also looking for a garnish molding for the left side for a 37 LaSalle convertable.  I appreciate all replys.  Regards,

I don't want to give away Bob's age, but he and Moses were childhood friends. He doesnt know how to drive an automatic transmission, and I personally think he's one hell of a nice guy!!!!!

Chic Gray,
Sorry it took so long to respond. I had a similiar problem with my 1937 Cadillac as far as the ignition switch assembly. If you have the lock with key and the cap for the coil Hibernia Restorations can rebuild it, they did mind and what I thought at the time for a reasonable price. Good luck!!

Hi there guys my name is Robert. I am just curious if the carburetors, water pump and starters still available? I know this is already a month old thread but i am just hoping that you might save my time in looking for those parts. If also you know where can i find cadillac shoes (http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/cadillac-fleetwood/brake-shoes/) which are cheap please let me know.

Fullmetal,
Just a response to your query about brake shoes;  For the rears, assuming you have a 37 LaSalle or Cadillac (at least the 60 series), they are as near as your local NAPA auto parts store!  The part number is either TS-33 or 41456 (both these numbers are on the box).  Bring your old ones (one leading, one trailing) just to be sure, but evidently GM used these same shoes on a multitude of cars up into the 50's and I think they were even used on certain Jeep models up into the 70's.  Just remember to save the box, because you need to return the old ones to get credited for the cores.  Yes, believe it or not, these will go back to their brake remanufacturing unit in GA.

BTW, if you'll read the forum rules, you'll see that in order to post, you must include your full name or at least first initial and last name.  So when you acknowledge this response, best to correct this or your post will be deleted.

I have two starters. One is a 1946 starter with a missing small cap on the starter solenoid. I don't know if it functions or not $75.00 plus shipping. The othe starter is a complete starter that was working when I removed it from a 1940 Cadillac. $150.00 plus shipping.
