I have finally got the cruise on my 60 installed and gone through all the trouble shooting steps outlined in the service manual. What I discovered is the "catch" on the top edge of the locking plate inside the main unit has worn off preventing the ability of the cruise to engage and hold the throttle at the selected speed. I'm  hoping that someone may have a parts unit with this piece that may be usable. Otherwise I think I could possibly weld and dress up an edge on mine to create the catch I need. Any other thoughts or ideas are certainly welcome. I have included a picture from the parts manual for illustration and you can make out the edge i am trying to describe on the locking plate. Thanks!
