Went to the Atlantic City Classic Car auction this past weekend. There was a black 1960 convertible , pretty clean, I would grade a -2/+3 going over the block. It ended up selling for $61,000 plus 8% buyers premium.
I climbed all over the car pretty good. What I couldn't help noticing was that the complete grill was sprayed with what looked like a flat silver paint. Stood out like a nun in a singles bar. For you members that are attuned to the 59's/60's, what would a good restoration shop like CPR charge to disassemble a grill, strip it, polish/anodize, and reassemble? Looks to me like a massive amount of work!
I'd guess at least $2500.00
