I heard mention that H&E did the modifications to the 53 Eldo,s is this a fact?...

Never heard that.     GM had its own styling studio so there was no need to outsource the 53 Eldo for production.

It was mentioned on a web site that the guy with the 56 lincoln MK11 convertible. he was at an yearly H&E picnic and a couple of guys from the line said that development of the lincoln had started around the time that they were refinishing the hard boot assemblies on 53 eldo,s
