1957 Vent window slide locks on hardtop verses Convertibles

 I went to look at a 57 Cadillac convertible today . the car was very origanal and i do not think it was tampered with to much during it's
lifetime . However i did notice the vent windows had  slide locks like a hardtop .  Every Caddy convertible 57 to 58  as i recall never had locks on the side vents . I am i being to suspicious about these slide locks or did some convertibles come with the slide locks .
