Just turned 57.5, so I guess I'm around the average. Skewed it way young when I joined at 26, after purchasing my second '59.  Bought the first one at 13. Should have kept it. Nice CDV for $350.

Will be 56 this summer.

While pulling and installing the engine in my '70 (at age 54), I swore (at the time) this was my last one (engine pull).  You guys older that me don't give me much to complain about.

You (older) guys are ROCK STARS!!!

I'm 36, had my first Cadillac at 22, a 72 Sedan DeVille.

Great responses.  After some more we can (I will) do the math.  I just turned 74. I had my first Cadillac, actually I bought two running 47 convertibles when I was 13.  I of course did not have a license so they had to be hidden in the neighborhood.  I drove them around for a few months and unfortunately I kept them in the same place too long and they were towed.  No biggie, cost me $50.00 for both of them.  They were in excellent shape, but  in 1956 ten year old cars of all ikinds were just old cars and no one wanted them.
Next Cadillac was when I was 30 I bought a new 72 Eldorado "to slow me down" from the hot rods I was driving then.  I never looked back (or actually never looked too far forward) 70's era Cadillac's have been my daily drivers fdor over 40 years.

Chris,

You are just a few months older than me, will be 56 too in the fall.  55 is young.  I better still be pulling engines past age 70.  Reading this forum makes me fell like that is normal and everyone does it until they can't.

If you are age 55 and drive a Cadillac that is the same as age 37 and driving a POS.

Great to see the variation in age here. I am 19 years old, soon to be 20 in a few weeks. I have just purchased my first Cadillac (and car) today after much patience- A 1979 Coupe DeVille D'Elegance with 5,600 original miles finished in Cedar Firemist over Dark Cedar Velour. Without the extremely knowledgable and helpful members here at the CLC, I would not have been such an informed and meticulous buyer. I am sure this is a sign of many great things to come!

Will be 69 this week.  Bought my '56 Eldo from my parents when I was 19, paid $200.  Many other Cadillac's have come and gone.

Gee, I am a young 68, but the mind still thinks I am a bulletproof 25 year old, and the body tells me I am on the road to senility.

Ditto with me, except I’m one month short of 69.

I'm 53 and "Temporarily Retired"  ;)  for now after my job moved to NC from NJ after 27 years and I chose to stay up here with the family......now I have the time to turn my attention to the '75 Eldo  ;D ;D

Had 7 1958 Cadillacs from when I was 17 years old until I was 23.........buying them and either flipping them or parting them out is what funded the purchase of the '59 Fleetwood back in 1981 which my Son (now 19) and I restored between 2010-2014 and is now on the cover of this years CLCMRC Calendar.......

I'm 50 here. Almost owned my 1 Caddy when I was 15. I had to borrow the money from my dad. It was a 66 Calais and after I got it my dad decided to keep it and that I would help restore it.

First Cadillac @ 17 years of age in the year 1981 - a Maize 1973 Coupe deVille with white top, yellow-gold leather and dual power seats. High school friends irreverently referred to it as the "banana boat".  (Okay - maybe it was justified.  ::)  )

Incidentally, how old is someone who spells old as "olde"?   ;D

Will be 58 in April.

Back in the day, first thing I did when Dad took the training wheels off my bicycle was to ride face first smack into the drivers door of the neighbor's 57 de Ville. Guess you could say Caddy's were "imprinted" on me at an early age.......

Seventy five and still enjoying my love affair with cars and motorcycles.

First car was a 1941 Studebaker but parents limited my driving so I purchased a 1949 Buick (Stick shift) for $75 and parked it a block away. I was busted when a neighbor complained I was blocking their driveway. My parents were talking about that the other day. So many cars and motorcycles I should try to make a list. First Cadillac when I was 25.

47 here.  Convinced my dad to spend a few hundred bucks on a 63 Sedan DeVille my senior year of high school, but he got rid of it after I left for college.  All the intervening time and obligations since then have precluded me from returning to the hobby until last year.  Working on getting my kids as involved as I can to help counteract the constant distractions from computer and internet time.
