I know I have my own 'chapter' here in restoration, but with 14 pages folks may have sickened of it.

What is the proper plug to use with the insulation, square or round? 1970 fleetwood
Also, is that fancy spray glue from the specialty shops necessary? Is the glue necessary? or would the cheap
high heat spray glue from Home Cheapo work as well? thanks!

Laurie

I know that the insulation in my '72 hood is not stuck on, but held only by the plastic "clips", which are round.

I'll look under my hood tomorrow to see if they are round or square.

Don't use glue.

I'm still trying to get the word on 68 vs. 69-70 condensers. I think it'll fit.

My 69 had round plastic clips. I cant guarantee that the insulation was original, but it looked it.

Good thing I ordered round clips!

And the word is DO NOT glue the insulation to the hood....

What is it with USA Parts Supply? No way to on-line order? No email receipt?
Placed my order over the phone, asked the guy if he wanted my email address... "for what?"
HELLO? Its 2018! I finished a huge thrash on a house today in Hyannis MA and brought the owner in northern CA on a real time tour of the work with my phone... jeez!

Battery Central Mall said the battery would be here the middle of March, yea!

Now you know how life is like down where I live.

Ordered a part from USA, and it took a week from USA to Sydney, Australia, then another three weeks to me in Tasmania.

Australia, was there twice with the Navy, nice folks, beautiful country.
I ordered the battery 29Dec17, they went back into production on 3Jan18. Its 6-8 weeks production time from order to delivery 'now'... in the spring when everyone gets back into show mode, that production period expands dramatically. Glad I got in sooner vs later!

Hood insulation (1" thick) and 15 ROUND clips arrived today along with the now elusive F L E E T W O O D script via USA Parts Supply. Just one more part out there, the battery!

Laurie,

I was refering to the time it takes for parts already at hand, not ones to be made.   They take even longer.

But, forget about the "Big Island up North", it is down here in Tasmania that gets all the nods.

Before you actually put in the first clip, make sure you have the orientation of the pad correct.   These new clips are hard to remove.   Don't ask me how I know.
