Hi all, I have noticed corrosion on the frame of my Cadillac, what spray on/brush on product do you recommend that will convert the rust.  Thanks  David

It all depends on how much frame rot you have -- you
didn't give details.

Here in the "rust belt" Pittsburgh we go through mountains
of salt every year to keep the roads clear.  It's much the same
in other like areas. Frames have been known to rust to the
point where they actually become unsafe.

It it's just surface rust, then a good "do it yourself" wire wheel
job followed with a product like Eric mentioned is the way to go.
You may also want to check out a product called "POR 15" which
is very good for such things.  Also dries black and very tough.

Por-15.   We use it at the resto shop I work at.  Just make sure you remove loose scale with a wire brush and do THIN coats.  That's the key.  Also any new metal needs to be scuffed up with 80 grit to get good adhesion.

I concur, Por 15 is definitely the best product at not only cover up rust, but sealing it and stopping it from spreading permanently. I used some on my 64 and it’s still on there and hasn’t peeled or faded.

You don’t want to just brush it on completely rusty metal, but on light surface rust it’s ok.
