Can anyone help me with my data plate numbers for my 74 Eldorado Convertible?

I figured out most of this. 466 trim is antique dark blue. Does that usually include dash, floor carpet and lower door carpet?  What color were my seats originally because I can't figure it out? I also can't figure out what color my soft top was originally?

A65 is a 60/40 back seat and a bench front seat I believe, but mine currently is reversed. It's the bench seat in the back and buckets with arm rest in the front. Is it possible the movie company switched these?  I mean are they completely swappable or not at all? Everything else I have figure out.

If anyone can assist I would be very thankful. I'm just trying to see how I should approach some of these things. What was factory and what was changed by the movie company and what was changed by previous owners.

Thanks all!

Haha. Yes, I read this already! That's where I got most of my info but for instance on my plate it says 466 (antique dark blue. does that include door panel carpet or just dash and floor carpet?) then it says 11 (COTILLION WHITE EXT.) then it says 1C .... what is 1C?  I see nothing that tells me what that means.

Under the 466 it looks like it says OC but I don't know what that means either.

Under the first ST it says TR .... what does that mean?

Not everything is in that pdf or it doesn't translate 100% and I think some of the answers to my questions are in these mystery letter/number combos.

Thanks Bobby!  Which part is the "C" ?  OC or 1C ?  I'm pretty sure the C at the bottom is an accessory that stands for Cruise Control.  E-Y-L-K-C are all accessories from what I read.

Blue top!  That's interesting

See above modified post. Don't hold me to any of this  ;D......

I think the C at the bottom is Cruise Control since it's grouped in with the other accessories and I do have cruise control. So what the hell is OC and 1C ?

466 is blue leather, yep. I'm trying to find out if my entire car was blue!  The dash, door panel carpet, flooring AND the leather seats (possiby the top too!!  Which kind of make sense because the dash is "painted" white and I also feel like the seats might be as well. The blue probably didn't jive with what the director wanted and/or it was sucking all the light out of the shot so they just painted the whole interior white because they knew they could get away with it on camera!  That's my guess anyways.

See the link to the GM Heritage Center. They list the letter "C" as a Blue Convertible top which would make some kind of sense if your car was White with a Blue interior. That would be an obvious color combination to me. But I don't know for sure...

The interior of your car was originally all blue.  Everything.   No white.

A different code number was offered for blue with white seats and door panels.   A white dash was never used.

The 1C after the exterior color number is for the roof.   In your case being a convertible, 1C indicates it was built with a blue top.   The body side molding insert color was also blue to match the roof.

So if the interior has white in it now, that was done later by someone who customized it.

The “0C” portion denotes the build date, most likely “10C” which would be third week of October. You might find the “1” hiding by the screw. Would make sense based on early build number of your car.

...and, to add to all the others -

A65 means that the front seat bottom is a bench, and the backs of the front seat are split 60/40 with the armrests - the rear seats are always bench style, so it really should read "seat backs" not "back seats" as you interpreted.

Hopefully that helps - it sounds as if you probably have the correct seats, which have been painted over.

You are 100% correct. The movie company must have painted the whole interior white! LOL!  I can see the blue under the white "paint" everywhere!  Seats, doors, dash. All blue but painted white! The story goes that the director of True Romance, Tony Scott, saw this car driving around Hollywood and thought it would be great for the characters. He tracked down the owner and bought it from him. It was probably blue interior and they painted it all white (probably under time constraints) so it worked better for the camera and didn't bury the actors and their costumes. Then when the movie wrapped he gifted the car to actress Patricia Arquette. Well he's not going to give her a painted blue car. He's going to fix it up!  So he changed the entire interior, including the dash, to leopard print (her character's signature wardrobe!) All the pieces are coming together now. Thanks all!

Why is my wood grain blue though?  The top portion looks like a shade of blue while the bottom is not. Weird.

TMoore - NTCLC

The different color of the wood grain is a testament to the fact that this car was often exposed to the sun with the top down - the tops have simply faded out, and when they do, they can turn weird colors, while the lower portions that did not get the same amount of sun retained more of their original color.  You would think they would simply turn lighter under the bleaching sun, but that is not always the case.
