WTB: gas pedal and other for 1957 Biarritz
« on: February 12, 2018, 03:10:41 PM »

I am looking a complete gas pedal for 1957 Biarritz project. The one we have now, has some kind of hardware-store hinge welded on it. Need a correct and good-looking pedal assembly. May need cleanup and paint ofcourse.

Also need these arch-shaped sheetmetal strips that are mounted in front of the dasboard top pad, just beside the windshield. In good, no- rusted condition.

And also looking for these little sheetmetal fixing pieces that hold the rubber go-thru piece on the firewall. May need cleanup and coating.

Would be great if the seller could ship the parts directly to Europe, but if not then I have a friend in Portland who could organize the overseas shipping.

Contact PM or vallo.kylvi(at)

The complete restoration project is going together but some of small parts are missing or in non-restorable shape. 1957 and 58 should be all the same parts I believe

I got my gas entire pedal assembly out of the Arizona vintage parts guy.   I don't know if he has any more, but it's a start.   There's another desert one to try, but he didn't have as much.   Desert valley didn't have any 57-58 parts at last contact.   You find the better sheet metal out west.
There must be an issue with these 57-58 pedals breaking because the one in my car was also badly repaired, well, more like atrociously welded - if you could call slag weld.   There's a few other west coast parts places to try for sheetmetal, like allcads, etc, or they can give leads.   A couple US restorers, like CPR also sell parts.  A quick internet search will give you many leads.  There's a compilation of Cad parts sellers available online on the site.   I believe there's a biarritz parts only guy too, but name escapes me.   Dave King may know more.   Good luck.   A trip to Hershey or getting someone to look for you, may be fruitful.  There's several on here that sell there.   There's a Cad parts guy in Norway or Sweden, if I recall.
Not aware of anyone making small repro stamped sheetmetal items.   Generally, when those firewall parts are bad you're starting with a parts car or one in really bad shape.   Those are common to all models I think, so should be able to scare a decent one up.   Parts are getting more and more scarce in this vintage, even in the last few years.  Prices are rising.   So I can appreciate how much more difficult it is from across the pond.   Generally, one can repair most seriously damaged sheet metal, but if it's missing and you don't have a pattern...

Just remember that the Eldo pedal has the extra ss dress up trim.  You can start with a generic 57 58 pedal and add the trim later. eBay is where. Would be looking for smaller stuff.

I am sure I have one.  The problem is to figure out which one is std. Cadillac Eldo vs. Eldorado Brougham.  The is a slight difference I and don't recall which one is which.
