My first call for parts from this era is Eddie Jones @ 612 558 2629   I talked to him a couple of weeks ago and he is closing his salvage business. Nicknamed "Cadillac Jones"  he has probably parted out more of these cars and has the most knowledge of anybody around.  There are others and if Eddie can not help give me a call and I will try to find one through other sources. His prices are quite fair!!

Thank you for the numbers Mr. Griffin.
Although it's a bit tedious to call US. I will have to do it as last option.

You can reach Eddie at   "Cadillacjones@peoplepc.com" also. I would have given that in the first response if I had known that you were from another country. He is quite knowledgable and if you include the drawing you presented in this post he will know what you want.

You can reach me at "garygriffin@Q.com" if you need any additional help

Good luck sir!

Can you be more specific Mo. You say you want both levers and rods but only one rod is highlighted in red on the diagram. State the part numbers on the diagram you need.

The picture is larger than the screen, slide it over to see both rods.  Actually, there are three highlighted, part #12.2238 --- part #20.1303 --- and part #12.2025.

I can see all that but the OP states he would like both levers and RODS, in the plural.  So is it both levers and the one rod? as I might have the rod.

Gary, Thank you for both emails. I will contact him if there is no luck here.

Steve, sorry for the confusion.  :-\
It's only one rod and the two levers. I have corrected the typo.
One lever is shorter than the other. If you have that rod 12.2238, I'll be interested. Cadillac calls all these rods "Transmission Control Rod"

G. Newcombe is correct. I usually enlarge pictures so I don't have to look for my reading glasses.

I have the rod but, it's one I made from a stainless rod using an original as a pattern. I also have the levers and there's another but, they would have to be taken off the Hydramatic transmission they are on possibly devaluing that transmission forever. Can I ask why yours are missing? or are you trying to fit an auto where there never was one?

I got hold of a complete 48 engine with aut transmission. Someone has broken off the levers (maybe dropping it) and that one rod is missing  . All the other connections and rods are there.

Yes I'm, playing with the idea to swap the original 1939 322 drive-line with the "modern" 346 Aut. for next summer.
Any advice?

Can't give you any advice there Mo. I have swopped Manual/auto transmissions but only from cars of the same year.
You will need the distributor tower of the auto of course and the front half of the 48 prop. Quite how you mate the shift lever on the column will be interesting.
If I take these components off this tranny to make your's whole and you don't do this project I will be the one left with the incomplete unit instead of you, so, if you make a start with this I will then let you have these bits, but if you don't I will keep them.   Perhaps someone else can help if you just want to make it complete regardless?  Your thoughts?

The 48 distributor tower is there with it's extra levers and linkage to the carb so no problem there.

It's admirable of you to offer these parts but with so many of these transmissions sold, there must be some parts laying around somewhere. I think it's a pity to make yours incomplete.
I hope from now till spring those parts will show up somehow.
What is your plan with the transmission?

I have two of them Mo. A 42 and a 48. Someone attached the 1941 brass plate on the 48 to make it look authentic I guess. I really wish I could find a good home for the pair of them.
