I wonder if Fats still had any of those Cadillac's when his house was flooded during Hurricane Katrina.

One of the pictures I saw after Katrina of his house looks like the same brickwork but much smaller, maybe it was another section, it says Fats Domino Publishing on sign.

I also saw a picture inside his house after Katrina showing a 1959 Cadillac couch.

That couch was probably one that was made for Fats by his long-time buddy and CLC member Bob Millian who passed on in 2009:

Sorry to jump in your post again.

Heres a link with picture of Fats couch post Katrina, looks like the 1 Bob made and has same "Fats" plate.

http://www.nea.gov/about/nearts/story.php?id=p14_domino&issue=2006_v5

I remember hearing about that now, that Bob made a couch for Fats, I'm in the New England Region Club that Bob was in and would see him at shows and was even at his house when I bought a Cadillac parts car from him, I didn't realize he made couches for other people as well and the music center.

I think you're right, Eric. That definitely looks like Bob's creation for Fats.  What a shame.

I sent an email, but maybe you didn't get it.  I'd be interested in the book, Cadillacs of the Forties.

Yes, I do have a near mint '58 owner's manual (NOT a faxon repro item).  It's yours, Jim, for $48 + $4.95 priority mail.
If interested, pls. eMail your street address and send a check to Yann Saunders, 114 Seafarer Lane, Columbia, SC 29212,
Thanks.

Fred,

Nothing special about the 40-75 series or 40-90 for that matter.  It is in the standard 40 owner's manual.  Covers all models in 1940.  They are routinely on eBay I think.
