"Cadillac Kid" Greg Surfas 15364

I was just reading on of the local region's newsletters and all the pictures seemed to be of "older" folks.  Being one myself I believe I is not in-polite for me to ask the question "What is the average age of our membership?"  I know someone out there has access to that information and I do not believe it would be a reach of confidence, since it would just mean taking the total age of all the members and dividing it by the number of members.  A lot has been said around this subject, but I would like to see the number.

I don't recall that my membership renewal form had a spot to indicate my age. I don't think that it is relevant to club membership.

At any rate, I will be 55 later this year, so we can start from there.

I will be 80 on July 9th. Does that deserve the fancy "e" on OLD?

I've never seen a club registration form ask for your age, but check your forum profile.  It might be listed there.

I'm 53.

Gee, I am a young 68, but the mind still thinks I am a bulletproof 25 year old, and the body tells me I am on the road to senility.

Looking at 84 in Nov. Started with old cars when I was 14. My first car below was a 1913 Ford which I paid $75 in 1948. Finally restored the car in 1972. My last restoration is a 1971 Olds 442. Several Cadillac's along the way.    Bill

Greg,

I'm 55, but very immature for may age.  You did not list your age?  My first car was a 1965 Thunderbird in 1976.

I'm 70 and hoping that's middle age.

Ralph,

I'm 60, so I am hoping 70 is middle-aged too!

When I completed my forum profile, I did include my age, but I do not think it is necessary for forum membership.  Likewise, I do not recall that age information was required when I submitted my CLC membership information.  Given the responses to this thread, we seem to have members ranging in age from 20s to 80s.  That's good, although I suspect the mean age is older than the median age.  It would be great to still be working on old Cadillacs when I am 90, but I suppose I will have to get a transmission jack by then.

Hey all,

I bought my first 59 at the age of 12.  I've owned many over the years.  I'm currently 38.

Thanks
