Mostly a question for those outside the USA.    When you go to a place that sells oil what are the options?    I assume its not like in the USA where 75% of the options and applications are covered by the API (American Petroleum Institute) ratings?

Does oil sold in other countries carry an API ratings?  Or do you have to go to a shop that sells 'American' parts and oil to see that?

Do other countries have the same issues with zinc?

Is the USA API system easier?   Here it covers most 'American' cars and some of the 'imports' so for a lot of people its as easy as just getting the proper weight of 5w-20 or what ever it happens to be.

Is the 5w-20 weight number also an API or SAE thing?  What do other countries use?
