As a note: My interior is dark blue. It took forever and many samples until I found a leather and vinyl that almost matched. The color is not original, as that would be difficult. It was so dark, it looked black. The vinyl from CH Draw Inc and is called LuxorLeather.
My seats will be 100% leather while the headliner and remaining parts will be vinyl. I had 5 yards perforated for the headliner.
I sent a sample of the vinyl and the leather to SEM and had them mix a quart of each color. They stated they were very close, but I wanted it, just in case. The grills in the pictures were painted with SEM. They look great.
When I spoke to Dean at Dash Specialist, he asked I send the vinyl I was using in the rest of the car. He said, based on the vinyl, he could mold the vinyl into the dash. There are several advantages to this and a disadvantage to this.
The advantage:
Not plastic
Exact color, no painting required
Richer looking dash
Soft to the touch.
Disadvantage:
Lines are not as sharp as they could be with plastic.
Dean determined he could mold the vinyl into the dash during the process.
Attached are several images. The dash looks great. Gives off a warm feeling. Something you feel like just having to touch. It is extremely soft and pliable. I love it.
I have yet to determine what to do with the door panels and rear quarter sections. I would do this without a problem, but I want a sewn seam on the edge. I want it to have a different feel than the original. A richer feel. If we cannot accomplish this, I will have Dash Specialist do this to the door panels.

That looks good!

I should check with them to see if they can do my (black) dash too.

Thanks!
