I didn't see it as an active auction, but it was in the completed/expired auctions.

Here are two photos from it.

Color 92 is Crystal Firemist.

Trim 451-R  indicates it has the rare Recliner too as well as the headrests and bucket seats.

Have a B on my Eldo, with trim 000 :)

However code R is correct for buckets too:

"R RECLINER, BUCKET SEATS, HEAD RESTS"

On a side note, I wonder if "R" was available with the other colors on Special Order as well.

The information only mentions "B" seating could be so ordered but the same availability is not specified for "R".

Eric,

There are two options here: "B" is the Strato style bucket seat in leather and "R" is the bucket seat -in leather - with peaked headrest and reclining seat back. The "B" option is a $158-358 up-charge in the de Ville series depending on body style, but was a no charge option on Eldorados. The "R" option is a $268 -443 up-charge in the de Ville series and $84 up-charge on the Eldorado. The upholstery would be any standard color leather for the series chosen, with an up-charge if you ordered and Eldorado color in a de Ville.
The seat back recliner and peak style headrest was only available with buckets. There was a differnt style headrest for bench seats which I've only seen once......not very popular.

greetings fans
have not had time to look into this yet
hold the drinks
if the bucket seat and bench seat use the same 451-r code, how did the body plant know what seats to install?
sole purpose of body/trim tag was to specify what body items were to be installed on a particular car

going to look thru all my 66 tags and cars, curious because that trim code on non special orders was to denote the particular interior for that car
not aware of any trim code identifying multiple choices

It's pretty clear here in the instructions.

451 is black leather.

451H  tells them to add Headrests to a bench.

451B indicates buckets.

451BH indicates bucket with Headrests.

451R  indicates recliner with headrests and Buckets.    So the R suffix gets you all of them.

looks like I stand updated on this, owned a bunch of them, never did the research like I did on 59, back to my endless fruitless hunt for a low mile original to buy
