I am in the last lap of the race to finish my 1942-6719 ans a local upholsterer wants $800 plus materials to finish my Assist straps, robe rope, and sun visors.  I know they are special but is that a reasonable price?  Are there specialty shops that do things like this??

It does sound a bit high to me but LB has the fabric and patterns in house.
They also have some visors and assist handles as stock items.

Good luck.

LeBaron Bonney does a fabulous job on the visors.  It was a bargain but I guess they found they were losing money on them and raised the price.  The last ones I did was two years ago and they were in the $250 range for the pair.  This is about double of what it had been for years.  Don't know the price today.  They have the machine to do these right.  I would be very surprised if a local upholstery shop has the machine for this.

Your right Brad. I have done many visors over the past 40 with a variety of industrial sewing machines I have owned but I have to tell people that it will never look just like the factory. It obviously takes a very particular machine to stitch that fine bead edge. I have never even seen one.  At least over the years, the chrome end Finials have become available.
