Barry M Wheeler #2189

I trudged out through the four or five inches of snow back to the garage area where the '91 Seville has sat neglected for a week to get the mileage so I'll have it if I go to town to try to transfer the title tomorrow. It took about four tries but she started right up after the minus ten degrees Tues/Wed night. Since the 2016 ATS did NOT start Wed. morning, I am more than pleased. They JUST don't build them like they used to...

If I was sitting outside in the cold that you get there, I wouldn't be starting either.

minus 3 and counting down up here in Maine.  Cadillacs, especially older ones, need to be indoors in heated garages--- any automobile with its internal combustion engine that is forced to run in these temps through layers of road salt is destined for an early grave!     Happy day, James

75-85+ every day here and the cars all start fine.  ;)

I remember the 10degree (or -10!!!)  days from MA & NY, and I'm glad that they are a memory!

90 F down here.   The sun is too biting to go out in it without a hat on.

Overnight, down to a cool 68 F.   Hard to sleep.

Oh, that's right, it is Summer Downunder.

That is a big advantage of EFI.   Back in the carb days when it would get below zero F it was often a IF it will start.   With EFI most of the time it will so its more a question of should you start it.

The key to this issue, assuming the engine condition and state or tune is good, is winter blend fuel a a good battery.

Certainly the engine needs to be in good condition.  My 60s cars
at neg 20F started with points, but they started better with HEI.
Once the Olds 350 started at neg 30F after sitting out in mid WI.
