Leaking fuel ! The carbs have been totally rebuilt but still want to dump fuel on the ground randomly! It has become very frustrating as we have had the carbs apart so many times to fix this but just cannot seem to make anything work, have tried numerous gaskets and seals , different float settings and different needles and seats but to no avail. Any suggestions??

Fuel dumping is usually related to the float either set incorrectly, sticking/binding after you close it up, debris stuck around needle valve/ seat area, or too much fuel pressure overtaking the float. I don't know the principles of a '31 carb, but break it down again and make sure you haven't left something out or overlooked something. Very easy to accidentally have the float hang up on you when the re-assembling.  Maybe someone will chime in that knows the quicks of a Johnson carb. Good Luck!
