Not very helpful if you don't have the manual.

Better yet go here.

One thing to cautious of if there is a long life version of the bulb specified LL on the end of the bulb number (1056 v 1056LL) try to get the one thats not LL.

Often the LL bulb has larger contact points at the bottom of the bulb and often this makes the bulb not fit well into the original socket so do not get the LL bulb if you can. Sometimes the LL bulb will work so you are taking a chance it may not.

Nice site --- but better yet, get the shop manual!   Then you not only get the bulb sizes but a Cadillac factory shop manual covering all the other things concerning the proper maintenance and repair of your '59.  Ebay is an excellent source of inexpensive real-deal factory shop manuals.

That's wonderful advice but he needs a light bulb for now. So why not help.

A simple question begs a simple answer.

I wish there was a site that gave out information on what globes fit what vehicle, by the globe numbers.

I have heaps of early 6 and 12 volt globes in their original boxes.
