Eldorado Extravaganza: 1953-1966

The Cadillac-LaSalle Club (CLC) Potomac Region cordially invites you to attend its 2006 Fall Car Show to be held at Capitol Cadillac in Greenbelt, Maryland on Sunday October 22, 2006.  The show’s theme will be Eldorado Extravaganza: 1953-1966. The goal is to assemble a minimum of one Eldorado for each year from 1953-1966, which would make it the largest gathering of rear-wheel drive Eldorados in Mid-Atlantic history.  Each known Eldorado owner in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast will receive a personal invitation to attend.

All registered vehicles will be judged by people’s choice ballot by the owners of the vehicles registered. Each registered owner will be able to judge cars in all classes, including their own, and 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards will be given to winning vehicles in each class, including Class F (1953-1958 Cadillac Eldorados only), Class G (1959-1962 Cadillac Eldorados only) and Class H (1963-1966 Cadillac Eldorados only).  Also, all registered cars will be eligible for Best of Show, Best Pre War or Best Post War, Ladies’ Choice, Dealer’s Choice & Long Distance Award (driven cars only). To celebrate the event, each registered owner will receive a commemorative dash plaque (see above), as well as a commemorative show program highlighting the history of Cadillac Eldorados and featuring a write-up on each 1953-1966 Eldorado pre-registered for the show.  The Eldorado owners will also receive a framed certificate of appreciation for participating.
   
The 2005 Fall Capitol Cadillac show’s theme was Celebrating V-12 & V-16 Cadillacs and the show attracted 91 cars, 11 of which were V-12s and V-16s.  It is believed to be the largest gathering of V-12s and V-16s in Mid-Atlantic history and was featured in the February 2006 CLC Self-Starter magazine and the March 2006 issue of Hemmings Classic Car.

Capitol Cadillac is an easy 25 minute drive from the Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) and a 5 minute drive from the Holiday Inn Greenbelt (800-465-4329), where rooms are being reserved for the night before the show (Saturday October 21st) at the special rate of $89 (mention Cadillac LaSalle Club when making reservations).  The Holiday Inn Greenbelt will also be the site for a dinner the night before the show hosted by past CLC President Richard Sills & Shelley Chadick.
