We have a 2011 platinum edition Escalade with 50k miles and love it except it rods like a lumber wagon. Feel every bump. Is here any way to correct that ?

Sounds like the tyres are either too low in profile, or too high in pressure.

Is it fitted with aftermarket rims?   As in really large ones, that use really low profile tyres?

One thing about the older cars with their 75 or 78 aspect tyres, they, the tyres that is, really softened the ride, but handling suffered.

What size are they, and the tyres?

Sounds like a tire problem to me as well.

I have a 2004 model and it rides very nicely.  I did, however, replace the
OEM tires with Michelins (pricey but good!) a few years ago and it now rides
even better.  The tire is the Defender LTX (car / crossover version -- not
the light truck version, it comes in BOTH).

Recommended tire pressure for mine is 32 pounds for all 4 wheels.  The
ride you are describing is definitely not normal for this vehicle.

How old are your tires?  How many miles are on them?  What is the inflation
pressure (cold) that you currently have?  What brand?

22's?   What are they thinking?    People that buy these that are into 'rims' don't do stock no matter what they are so why ruin the ride for everyone else?    I know they do that on some of the cars to decrease resistance and keep the MPG up but in something like an Escalade is it really make any difference?     I just drove a 2014?  2500HD truck that has 20" wheels on it.  16's seemed to work good for almost 50 years so why change now?   It can't be for loads,  semi trucks still have sidewalls.

The sidewall for sure makes a difference in the ride.   I just did a slight upgrade on my daily driver.   Previous model had the 'premium' 18" wheels.   My winter tires were 17's and much smoother ride but I wasn't sure if it was the tires.   New car which is pretty much identical just 2 years newer but has the standard 17" wheels.   Same model tire as the old car and much smoother ride.    I would not have thought 1" would make that much difference.   Going from a 16 to a 22 has got to be a huge difference.

22's wow!  That is crazy!  Those are some expensive tires.  I would start there first and then inspect some suspension components to verify that nothing is causing the harsh ride.

The tires I'm running on my Escalade (on stock OEM rims) are 265/70R/17.

According to my books, the correct tire size for your 2011 Platinum is
P285/45R22.  So it appears that you have the correct size.  Correct inflation
is given at 35 PSI for all wheels.

What does the dealer have to say about your ride complaints?  What type
of Michelins do you have on your Escalade?  I still believe your issue is
related to a tire problem.  What was the OEM original tire type that came
with the vehicle (if you know).

I am surprised that the stock wheel is a 22 inch -- and I changed my earlier
posting to reflect this.  However, as others have already stated, that's not
normally a smooth running tire at that tire size.  That type wheel was a "style"
thing for awhile but many people have changed them due to ride issues.  A
different brand / type of tire may help.

Boy, with 22" wheels, and Michelin Tyres, I would hate to drive on anything rougher than a race track.

The only way you will get a nice smooth ride is to see if you can find someone that wants to swap you a set of stock rims for yours.
