 Hello all,
I am trying to figure out where the hoses lead to and exit from on the windshield washer and reservoir set up. When I bought my Caddy there were no washer hoses whatsoever. I have found 2 sources on this site ,but if I remember right I think they conflict somewhere.  My set up has 4 hoses and no red button on the top of the reservoir. Many Thanks!!  Paul

Not sure if it is the same as '57-'58, but here is a link to another posting you may not have found:  http://www.cadillaclasalleclub.org/forum/index.php/topic,103394.0.html

Those were the pages I used. It seemed as though something between the two conflicted. I also have looked in the gallery to verify the routes but can't get a really clear picture.

Hi Paul:

For the 1955, the correct configuration is shown in the previous post's attachment
in Figure (3).

The red cap has a solenoid under it, which activates the washer mechanism when
you push the button on the wiper control.

With all the information provided and some help from my shop manual I got all the lines hooked up. Since it is still cold here in Indiana ( and my garage) I have not filled the washer reservoir to see if anything squirts yet. When I start the car I do get an immediate hissing noise in the dash. Is this normal?  The radio isn't working yet and the pneumatic antenna dosen't look like it has worked for some time. The wipers do work now! What should I look for next? As always I appreciate all the info you guys are providing.

Sounds like you need to look for a vacuum leak next.  That is the hissing sound, might be in or near the vacuum operated windshield wiper motor.
