My mechanic buddy diagnosed and repaired it in an hour... Ignition module.

All is well.

Figured there was a good chance it was that since that is where the fuel signal comes from.   That DEFI/ TBI system was pretty simple and reliable for the most part.  Glad to hear its back on the road.
