When working on engines I usually say 'if you are standing in front of the car facing the engine its on your xxxx side' since that is usually how you will be standing when you do it.  Saves you the trouble of having to think ok right side when Im in the car is now left side because I'm facing the engine.    Its almost as confusing as the theater term 'stage left' meaning left from the point of view of the actor facing the audience.   Maybe we can say 'mechanics left'?

PS.   I remember years ago when a relative crashed his Rambler, and the bodyworks was getting the parts from the dealer, and they requested a passenger side front door glass.   The wrong one came twice, and then someone twigged that Dealer was ordering the parts using the local terms, but the parts were coming from USA.   Yes, the car was built for export in RHD, and sold new in Australia.   All the parts were imported with nobody realising the mistake.

Hello again.  So we're putting this thing back together and am having trouble getting the pulley bolt holes to line up with the harmonic balancer holes so we can get the bolts on...do the bolts have to go back in a certain sequence or what am I doing wrong?

Keep spinning it till they align.   I think there is at least one that isn't evenly spaced so it only fits on one way.  Its that way because the timing mark is on the pulley.
