A friend is looking to buy the Roof Rail set - the rubber weather-strip that attaches to the roof molding - for his 1976 Coupe DeVille.   Question: The 75 and 76 are the same, but will the 74 fit without trimming?   Cost difference: $110. for 74-5-6 versus $200. for 75-6.   Hes getting two different stories from the parts vendors on what interchanges.   Does anyone know for sure what will work?   Thanks.

The only thought I have is that the 1976 rubber for the roof rail is the softer/squishier material. The 74 I recall has the harder type rubber-whether they would go thru the trouble to recreate this detail is not known. I dont recall what he 75 had.
I have a 76 Coupe.
