Wow.  Great!

You should do a little write up for the Self Starter to show us how you get that thing to move like it does.

Oh, wait minute, you did do a write up and the story is bottlenecked at the publisher?

Still waiting and ready!

;)

Hope to see it and you in San Marcos.

I'm going to talk with Steve Stewart soon. To do it justice the article will take substantially mort than 1500 words. If that won't work for the self stater perhaps I will do otherwise.

Love seeing Cadillacs and big sedans doing improbable e.t.’s at the drag Strip!

I used to race a retstored front engine dragster with an injected alcohol motor
in nostalgia events in the Midwest.  Once while racing in Indy, a guy showed up with a blown alcohol 59 Cadillac convertible.......!

The car went high 8’s low 9’s..........!  It was red and I believe won best appearing race car at
that event.   This was around 1997 or 1998.

Maybe someone here remembers the car....or has a picture of it...?
The guy was a real showman.  He hired two blondes in Bikinis from the local gentlemen’s club to line him up after the burnouts.......!
Great stuff! Great memories.......

Greg, how about a quick recap of what's been done to the drivetrain.

"Cadillac Kid" Greg Surfas 15364

Dave
A "quick recap" is what the 1500 words Steve Stewart says he will accept for the Self Starter.  With that I would only be able to gloss over evarything that was done, and I don't want to do that.  Let me see how this is going to go into print.
P.S. I have a commitment from one of the two major sources  for a "non-commercial" Seminar on "Performance" enhancements for the 472-500 motors at this year's GN. Scheduled for Friday at the GN.

Great run and work.  Now, I wonder what that engine/trans would do in a light weight car?  Keep it up, enjoy the posts.

OK- we talking 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile?
Hard to believe a 59 Caddy could run a sub-9 second 1/4 mile with any motor.  Just too heavy.

Gotta agree with thst, probably would need around  800-1000 horsepower and plenty of suspension work to go into the low nines at 4500 lbs.

"Cadillac Kid" Greg Surfas 15364

Car is a 5000 pound 73 Coupe deVille and the quarter mile went by in 12.9 seconds.
Sorry but I am just south of 585 HP
