Hello All,

I need to buy new battery cable positive and negative by the foot.   I have found these companies but don't have any history with them.  Any recommendations?

I find that the best Battery Cables can be made out of welding cable.

I have not bought from this place but they seem to to have a good rep and have a lot of options.

Another place to look is places that sell tractor parts.

A second vote for Pacer Group. They will make  any size length/size you want, and their prices seemed quite reasonable. I was installing a remote control battery shutoff switch on my '60, and decided to use the opportunity to replace my cables, I had them do 00 gauge cables.  They were very nicely finished and came very quickly. I think they cater mostly to the trade, doing large quantities for dealers etc. but the person I spoke with was more than happy to help be with my custom order, add a lead for the regulator etc.  Unless you are trying for factory original appearance, I wouldn't go anywhere else without talking to them first.  And they might even have, or install your spring ring terminals if you want to go that route.

If you have an Interstate battery distributor near you, they sell everything you need, least here they do.

Yep. Spot on. Lots of copper strands, very flexible, looks good. 4/0 welding cable.

Another vote for welding cable, especially if it is for a six volt car.

I fifth the motion for welding cable for 6 volt cars unless you can find an NOS cable on ebay or elsewhere.

I've used Genuinedealz on Ebay, who make custom length cables. Their battery cable is multistranded for flexibility, and tinned for additional corrosion protection. Price seems good too. Dean
