What price guides seem to be most accurate.

The "Old Cars Price Guide" comes the closest to reality (IMO).

However, that said, a pristine #1 car will usually sell for much more than the
prices they list, especially at auction.  This especially applies to the more
rare models that were highly desirable, low production and costly in their day.

The Eldorado's of the 50's come to mind here.  The "Guide" lists a 1953
Eldorado in #1 condition with a value of $200,000 -- but they go for much more
at auction in true #1 condition.  Check auction sites that give actual results.
You can look them up by make, year on most sites.
