Hi,
I was just reading about a guy looking for a dash plaque for his 75 Fleetwood.  I've been trying to find one for my 55 Eldo.  I beleive they came from the factory with these plaques..  They were located just above the ash tray drawer..  Anybody know where to get a correct one for a 55?

Thanks,
Chris Short

I think these were unique to the Eldorado's only.  There was something in a self starter magazine about these cars having a special plaque put on by the dealership.

Here's the story on these dash plaques for 1955.

The "standard" plaque said "Eldorado" engraved in gold script.  There was an
optional blank plaque that the dealer (or whomever) could engrave with the
name / inscription of your choice.  Both plaques were gold plated.

Many (especially wealthy and show-biz types) chose the blank plate and had
them engraved with a name of choice.  My original plate is engraved:
"Baron of BelAire".  Hope that helps.
