G'day Chuck,

I was in a similar position as you, back in 2002, but my scenery wasn't as nice as yours.

Couldn't get into the shade as there were too many humongous spiders hogging that area. (have pictures).

AAAA came to my assistance, and towed me and my precious wife, with car, to Ocala, where a couple of cans of Bars Leak fixed the problem, at least until we got to Las Vegas, where by chance, I found the culprit.

Here is unofficial anthem of every Cadillac owner . Attributed as also the first punk rock song “ Stranded” by the Brisbane band the Saints.
I sing this and bang my head whilst waiting for the tilt tray.

I found the cooling systems of early 60s cars to be quite marginal.
This was curable by upgrades to more like late 70s systems,
starting with a temp gauge and a fan shroud.  Bruce Roe

My own '60 CDV was good at cooling, even with totally corroded cooling fins.

Never boiled once whilst on the mainland with the outside temperature over 40 C for days on end.

BUT, if he is in Cuba, in a re-powered Cadillac, then anything could happen.

The car looks to rough to be a Floridian or any American location.

Look at the window surrounds, and the sill area.   Definitely modified.

That 4 door hardtop looks like a pillared sedan. What's with the extra sheet metal?

Yes, details matter  ;D

Probably rusted out the original glass frames, and therefore had to replace them.

People do a lot of things to keep something in use, long after they would normally be discarded by someone else.

Necessity is the "Mother of Invention".

I appreciate your sincere attempts to assist.  I got in at the Malacon. It was far from original with s 66 Buick interior. By the time we reached the Hotel National there was smoke. I took a look and the lower radiator hose was loose. I tightened the clamp. After a cool down period he added fluid fifteen minutes later we took off.
