I am a new member and will probably be asking for a lot of help. In November I purchased a 1933 355C Fisher Body car that underwent a total, body off (I'm told) restoration 25-30 years ago. The car was never completely re-assembled as the gentleman that had the work done passed away. The car moved around some over the years but nobody ever finished it. As a result a significant number of parts are missing. I will be seeking them on the for sale/ wanted forum soon. For now I badly need a wiring diagram so that I can finish wiring the headlights and horns. The generator does not seem to be working also. I would greatly appreciate any help

Here's what you need to obtain.
#1 Owners manual.
#2 Shop manual It should have a wiring diagram
#3 Serviceman bulletins.
#4 Join the CLC. Very few people on this board speak 33. You can use the directory to search out other owners that never visit this site.

Thank you for the reply. I have joined the CLC but it seems that I have seen others post a wiring diagram on this site but not for my car. I am looking for those very publications. I am finding that the majority of the forum is 40's and newer.

Hi Packrat,

Google "General Motors Heritage" and go to their site. Download the appropriate manuals. That will be a huge start. Also will provide wiring diagrams. You have a beautiful car.  I think the 1933 models are special. Please post pictures.

Good luck.

If you have joined CLC then you should have access to the members directory, which lists names and the cars owned. With a 355C, you are in a rare group. I would suggest using the directory to identify other owners and send them private messages asking for their assistance.

Memory tells me there is one owner in the Southern Ohio area who is fairly technical, and there are a couple of commercial sources who specialize in the era.

Hope this helps,

Paul

Thanks everyone, I will pursue what you suggest. I think there is twin to mine in Webster, NY area which is only 30 miles away. I'm just getting used to this club site. If you're out there "rochestergremlin" I need to talk to you.

Welcome aboard. Go with what Bob said and get the manual:-) The Generator has a third brush and the circuit breaker relay is not of anything you have ever seen before. if you mess the wiring up you could damage it or worse yet have a fire. If they wires are old and a PO has spliced and diced rip it out and get a new harness.

Here is a link for a reproduction shop manual which has a wiring diagram and other information that you may need. !932 and 1933 shared the same manual.

Rode Island wiring service does nice work in reproducing wire harnesses. They did an under dash harness for me and I was very impressed with their craftsmanship. I will be ordering a chassis harness from them in the spring. Also check out the AACA forum for help with your project.

Good luck with your project
