I have a 76 Eldorado that I would like to apply white accent stripes to. I have been searching for any specs as to the current width of each stripe and are they both the same width.  My car was originally white but repainted Crystal blue in the recent past. White seems like it would be a good choice.

Here are a few reference photos from my archives.
The Calumet Crème car had only 68 miles on it, so I am sure the stripes are original.
The Bicentennial one is two color but also a 300 miles example, so the stripes are original.

I enlarged a section of the tan one to show that the thicker stripes are reversed.

There were different striping schemes also.  Different variations.

It had been common practice for accent stripe to be dealer-applied when not installed at the factory which might well account for the variances in striping schemes.

I have seen 76 Eldorados done different ways.  The stripes were painted and I always assumed done at the factory.

This is a very common dealer practice to increase profits on an individual model.  If you aren't concerned about the car being judged, and I am not even sure if a car can lose points for invalid stripping.  I would find a competent and skilled pin stripper and have the car custom stripped.  I have always like cars that had stripping down the sides, around the hood and trunk.

Tom,

The Color & Upholstery selector has a sample of the pin stripe. The wider band is 3/32" followed by 1/4" space and a 1/32" fine line.
