Selling my Stromberg. Came off my 37 series 50. Went to a Carter WD and vacuum advance. Never be a show car and will be a driver. It's all there and has a new rebuild kit. Needs attention to throttle plates and some idiot tried to unscrew the Accelerator Pump arm lefty loosey, But it still holds.  Looking for 830.00 OBO. Needs to buy other parts.

I had also put OBO because I don't know what they are worth. You can always go down:-)What I do know is my brother needed an AA-22 last year and they wanted 1,300.00.  I couldn't find the AA-25 for parts and a couple carb places I spoke to said they haven't seen one of them in years.  I decided to go with the Carter and vacuum advance since we have those on the shelf.  I also need headlight innards and can't find them as of yet.

I have the headlight innards.

In all honesty about the carb, I would have thought about $150 was tops if someone was pedantic enough that they needed an AA-25. I personally don't like them and removed both of mine.

I really don't understand it myself, but I know if I had to go find one I would have to sell my first born. Always works that way for me:-) I like the Carters better also and my car will never be a 100 point car because I will be driving it as much as I can. It's not like the old days.  Anything you have for the lights that you would be willing to sell  I will buy. all I have is two shells and one left lens. I know you have helped my brother out. By the way the tank engine I rebuilt runs great. After he fixed the trans bell housing mount it runs and drives great he said. He still has a few small things to work out.
Thanks!

These adjustable inner reflectors would need re-silvering remember.  Confirm yours ARE the 7" units.

steve,
Here are two pictures. Not sure where to measure 7 inches from, but should have the headlight socket and parking light socket. I think 37 and 38 may have been the same.

You need to measure the lens.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the shell you are measuring is on a 1938 Cadillac, no?
My 1938 had a different size lens than my 37. The 37 is a 7" while the 38 was about 1/4" larger.

On inspection of my junk here I had not realized the 37 innards were so bad. One inner shell has some corrosion issues and is missing the small adjusting rod.  The good pair of innards I have are for 1938 and slightly larger.

Hi Steve,
Its a 37 50. I am not going to be picky. Anything I can get I will work with. I have a lathe mig etc and have already had to make parts for other projects. My father thought that maybe 37 and 38 were the same so i suggested it. I don't have the parts listing book for 37 and up yet.
Thanks!

36 and 37 are the same size.   Measure the lens you have Dave.
These units have a reflector which is then set inside a sep[erate inner shell and that fits in the headlight pod.  You cannot fit a 38 inner shell into a 37 headlight pod. The reflector is also larger so you can't fit the 37 lens to it.
My 37 units are OK except for rust through on the bottom of one.  The 38 set is good.

There are a pair of 36/37 lens on eBay.

Hi Steve,
The lens i havent recieved yet. I was told it was for a 37. If it is wrong then i will look at hetting correct ones. I dont mind the condition of the buckets and i know the reflectors would need to be re silvered.

Hang on to them, Steve. They are as rare as hen's teeth.... even if they were crap! That's probably why they are so rare.

John Washburn CLC 1067 Sadly deceased.

The problem with the aa 25 is it is also used on the 1937 Cord (with some modifications) So the Cord guys are willing to pay top dollar and have driven the price up.
