I have a '70, and I hadn't been aware a repro tank was available for these cars until recently.  Saw this on eBay, many have been sold.

Don't know if good or bad, but it may be the only game in town as far as a replacement tank goes.  Don't know if the factory tank has baffles or not or if the repro tank has them or not.  Haven't pulled my tank to look inside.

It'd be nice to get one of these, have a return fitting brazed in for a later fuel injection to be installed....Ah the possibilities....

Chris,
Good Call. Toms Classic is the way to go.  ;). His repo tank for my'47 fit like a glove. Really nice quality also. The only difference was that the sender screws were metric. No big deal as I put stainless in there anyway. Prices are also totally reasonable. Nice people to deal with. Good Luck!

I bought a new tank, sending unit and straps for my '49 from www.kanter.com and am pleased with everything.
