A friend of mine is looking for a 1956 hood hinges assembly in good shape. We know it will be expensive to ship; the hinges he has are no more good (the hood opened once while driving, not good at all!)
I know there are companies who restore hinges; I assume that they only solve the too much play at the rivets issue. In my case, there are other damages.

I have a nice hood hinge mechanism on a 55 that I'm parting out.  I'd take $100 plus shipping for it, located in Reno, NV.

Thank you for the offer but the 1955 hinges are totally different than the ones for 1956.

Edit: It happens I know that person; I bought from him '57 Eldo rear bumpers in good shape. Unfortunately, he has no '56 hinges.

Well, for the moment my needs are limited to the hood hinges assembly in good condition. As I'm searching parts for other people, this is the sole '56 item I'm needed right now.
Thank you for looking at your stock!

It might be a couple of weeks before I get to my other storage location to pull out the hood hinges.

As the offer was very reasonable and the shipping costs cheap compared to other offers, my friend ordered the assembly from Bob. Another adventure with a good end!
