I finally ordered the plastic bits for the interior of my old 1939 Cadillac 6127 Coupé from Dan Whalen in Ohio. He is a very helpful fellow and telephoned to let me know that he needs two items to make his plastic parts work.

We need an original throttle cable. The plastic can be deteriorated or missing, we need the metal parts.

Also needed is a cigar lighter, working or not. As with the throttle cable, the condition of the plastic doesn't matter. We just need the metal bits.

Can anyone help with this? Any ideas where to look?

Bump back to the top - I still need these parts. Any clues?

If nobody here has the parts, may I suggest pulling out your Membership Directory and contacting other '39 owners to see if anyone has spares?  Only a small percentage of our members use this forum.

Good luck!

Hello Paul

Is this the throttle part you desire?
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

Thanks Jeff, that's a great idea. I just placed an ad in the Self-Starter as well.

Thanks C.R., it sure looks like it could be the right part. The one on my car is missing & I don't know what it should look like for sure.

I do not know what the throttle control or cigar lighter look like in any detail. They are both missing on my car and somebody replaced them with aftermarket bits. Below is the best picture I have found of the outside appearance of these controls.

Paul,
That's a nice picture, but your owners manual might have a better one.

Too much fun is more than you can have.

This part looks like the those judging by the picture. Maybe you can cut it down to fit the other missing parts.
