I think he is referring to the often thrown away "generator ventilator" that mounts to the top of the generator and channels air from the fan. If that is the case I have one, if interested let me know.   Harry

I saw one of those on an engine once, and I stress only once! No mention is made of them in my MPB so were they an after market item?

That's odd, My MPB does not show a picture of this part and actually lists an inlet AND an outlet part number for the Ventilator. Interesting also these are only listed for the big series up to 39 then all series after.

Yes, I think we are talking the same part:  It should at least fit a 1939 Cadillac and LaSalle, and I think 1940 too.  Does not fit 1941 for sure (that just has a band over the brushes and ....).

Thanks everyone - by the time I was done I found a very nice original and also a NOS in the box (will have to take a dent out of it though).  Both were missing the mounting strap though figure I can make one from two generator band covers.
