The passenger visor on my 1974 Eldorado falls down every 5 or so miles when driving. I took it to a mechanic as well as a body shop & both said there's no fix & it needs to be replaced. I can't find a source -OPG etc -that offers the same red color of the visor set. I inserted a thin piece of wood between the leather & the rod with no success. Any fix suggestions?
Thanks

On a 72 Eldorado there was a screw to tighten on the face of the visor, and it seemed factory, but yet not Cadillac in appearance.  There should be an adjustment screw.

Randy & Scot-
Thanks for the suggestions. The screw on the visor is tight & it still flops. I bought a pair of the bushings on ebay Randy & hope they are the solution. Many thanks for both your ideas.

The bushings will not help if the spindle is loose. It must be totally stationary, but over time they tend to begin rotating when they shouldn't. If that's the case, you're going to need to replace it or weld it. Here's a photo to show what I mean (driver side). Arrow points to where they begin to rotate, but shouldn't.

Jack is most likely correct, as that has been the cause of several of mine being "un stayable"  My solution has been to drill and stake the spindle. Seems to work for me.
