I am restoring a 1956 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe in Germany.

see: http://forums.cadillaclasalleclub.org/index.php?topic=139340.0

The car was driving and the tranny shifted through the gears as far as I could tell from a short test drive before I started working in her.

When I took the tranny apart I realised that the internals of the shift valve body are not according the manual. I am missing the neutral clutch valve and spring, thoses weren't installed in the shift valve body. Does anybody have an idea?
The known tranny specialists are of no use as they only do complete overhauls and do not provide any useful help and advice..... money counts I guess..;-(

Could the modification I see here be part of a kind of shift modification / shift kit ??
