Lasalle front grille. 48 ribs. One broken rib, but I have the piece.  $150

Do you still have the LaSalle Grill for sale? Is it possible for you to send me more pictures and of the broken piece up close

Melbo2

Yes it is available.  I am attaching the photos you requested.

Melbo, do you know if your grill is for a 1940 50 series or a 1940 52 series? A 50 series grill has 50 lines on the bottom part and 4 on the top part on the hood. A 52 series grill also has 54 total but a different number on the top and bottom. Your grill will not fit a 1939 Lasalle. I do not need a grill but I thought I would point out there is a difference.

This grill has 48 bars. Does that tell you anything Tom?

Thanks, Tom, for your input.  I will remove the 1939 from my description. I am unsure whether it is for 50 or 52 series. It has 48 bars, if that might help identify it.
Thanks, Steve, too, for your input.

Hello Melbo, Your grill will only fit a 1940 series 52 Lasalle. That car will have 6 bars on the hood piece and 48 bars on the main grill. Even though the front styling is the same, the 50 and 52 series Lasalles are on different GM bodies and have different proportions. I have a theory that the grill casting is the same but the factory cut the top off at different places depending on the series. I am restoring a 50 series. I learned all this the hard way when I took a grill of off of a 52 series parts car. Tom

do you still have the grille and do you have the top piece for the hood?
