Anybody know what the length is of the 1956 Cadillac negative braided metal battery strap? Much thanks. Clay/Lexi

Clay,

According to the MPL is list them as 27" or 26 1/2" if you use the standard 3EE battery if you go with the higher CCA 3EH you need about 2" - 3" more to reach the terminal.

Jose I thought it was 27 for 3EE but was not sure. Got an opportunity to purchase an NOS one. As usual, you are a life saver! Thanks! Clay/Lexi

John Washburn CLC 1067 Sadly deceased.

I bought an original negative braded battery cable for my 56. This is correct one with the hole to go in frame before connecting to the engine.

Problem was the new EE batteries moved the post so it does not work.

I have a nice original one if someone needs it. Perhaps the folks who make the original batteries can verify this.
