Well, it appears the 41 is going on the Caravan in 2 weeks.  Anyone put radials on a 60 Special and can recommend a size that clears the skirts?  I will call Coker tomorrow and see what they recommend as a replacement to the 7.00X15 bias.

Recently fitted radials to both my 41s Eric.   They are Diamondback Classics 235/75 15  3.25 WW and fit and ride very well.

Used Diamondback also.  He will tell you what size to use.  These tires are a little wider.  Skirt might rub a little.  Grind chrome piece on bottom of skirt.  Did this on 41 and 47

Eric: I used the radial tire below from Diamond Back on both the 41 and 47. The radial used at that time by Diamond Back was a light truck tire. That was several years ago so what brand tire they are now using to make the 700X15 radial probably has changed.  Enjoy the CARavan and Arizona.  Bill

That's exactly what I have on my convertible Bill. I find them a little hard but they came on the car and are still good. my latest from Diamondback are really good and not of the truck design.

Steve: When I bought tires for the 41 and 47, Diamond Back was using a light truck tire made by Yokohama. Inflation recommended was 55 lbs. No way was I going to ride around in a car with 55 lbs in the tires so did some experimenting as you see below. I settled on 37 pounds which gives a nice ride. I have driven both the 41 and 47 on several car tours and the ride as well as the handling is excellent. I will not get the wear from the tires at 37 pounds verses 55 but the tires see only a few miles a year anyhow.  Diamond Back probably uses another brand tire now to make their 700x15 radial. Bill

Diamondback is making a completely new range of tyres Bill. They are not whitewalls fitted to existing tyres like the truck type but I believe a tyre actually made by them.  The sizes look really good and I was going to buy a set for my 37, sadly mine wore out before Diamondback released them so I had to go with Coker 16" radials.

My Diamondback's on the 41 are 6 or 7 years old and have been toured 5500 miles.  I also reduced the pressure to 35-37 pounds and have been very happy with the ride.  Probably need to replace then this winter.  Bob Smits #2426
