Legendary game show host Monty Hall died recently.  His most famous show was Lets Make a Deal!

This is footage of him giving away Cadillacs. (1971-1975-6)

The announcer states that the cars were from Casa de Cadillac in Sherman Oaks California. This means that the cars were not donated by GM rather the show was buying them  (likely at wholesale) from the dealer. This also meant that the prices quoted would have been the actual sticker price delivered in California and not a MSRP delivered anywhere. It likely also meant that the winners got that particular car (model and color) and could not have exchanged it for something else.

Casa de Cadillac........still around today and at the same location since 1950.  The showroom building also retains its 1940s architecture.  So many Cadillac dealerships in the Los Angeles area and other markets have closed, have relocated or have been rebuilt/modified to meet current showroom design requirements.

A personal note.
My father and his two brothers bought their Cadillacs from Casa de Cadillac over many years from a sales lady named Sheri(?) Moon, who retired a number of years ago,
I bought mine from her too.
I still got a birthday card from her a year or so ago.
Nice lady - may have passed ?
Still use them for trouble shooting and service - same service guy Eric Clark for the last 10 yrs or so.
Have fun,

It was originally built for Don Lee, here's a photo of it in'49. I too take my modern car there.

Symes Cadillac in Pasadena is another L.A. area dealership that was once part of the Don Lee organization but unlike Casa de Cadillac, Symes moved from its original location long ago.

i met someone a couple of years ago that provides most of the "win a car" cars at casinos here in Las Vegas.

They make their money on the fact that most people will take the low cash buyout instead of the car . . .

Another factor considered in a win like that is that the winner will end up paying income tax on the list price of the car.
