Hi Guys

I have a 42 Caddy 6107 2 door sport coupe. I need to get a regulator, and I was looking on ebay. They had a couple listed and one said it was a positive ground and the other said it was a negative ground. What’s the difference and how do I know which one is for my car? Is this something I need to know when I do order one?

Thanks
Jack

The battery polarity in 1942 was Positive ground. The correct regulator in Delco would be 1118302, and somewhere on the unpainted base of the regulator will show ground polarity.

Youll need the correct polarity for your car. There are regulators on aftermarket that supposedly are usable for either hookup. Pass them up.
