2015 GN Host Hotel is Sold Out! - see update below

I just checked with the Brookfield Sheraton, and was told that all of the rooms have been sold out for the 2015 GN. The hotel said they do not have a waiting list policy and there is not an overflow hotel listed. On to Plan B.....

Maybe the regions should start looking for better host facilities.

Here is an update - my wife decided to call on her own, just in case I spoke to someone who was clueless, and it turns out that June 23 ONLY is sold out, but if you call to reserve the full term of June 23 to 28, "the computer" indicates that ALL the dates are sold out (bizarre system). So, as of a couple minutes ago, you can reserve for the 24-28 without a problem - don't mention the 23rd!!!!

The hotel just called me - they said that I could reserve June 23rd, but it would be at the "bar rate", not the GN negotiated rate.......$458 per night. Yes, that is correct - I asked her to repeat it twice! I passed on her kind offer.

I called the hotel direct last night after awards banquet and was able to make reservation for June 23 - 28 at $104 rate with no problem.  I would expect many booked right away as they said over 100 rooms had already been booked. I have a chapter member that called and booked today but not sure for which dates.

Just to put everyone's mind at ease . . .

The CLC is now working with an outside contractor who specializes in searching for hosting venues, negotiating rates, etc.  I believe the 2016 GN in Las Vegas is the first GN where we will be using their services.  One of the priorities when they review host hotels is to ensure that they have adequate capacity.

I just contacted Kimberly Judd regarding the June 23 room situation and received the following reply. Rooms show now be available. Jason.

Good morning Jason,

I apologize for the inconvenience.  Your group is picking up so quickly, they picked up all their contracted rooms on 6/23/15!

We have added more rooms to the block, so this should not be a problem going forward.

I was just able to go on line and reserve from June 21-28, and will cancel my June 23-28 reservation.  It looked like additional date range might be available.
Bottom line, if you want to reserve your room I would suggest doing it now. Jason.

I just booked three rooms, and one of them being a handicapped accessible room still at the $104 rate.
