Not mine. If I had more time, this would be one of my favorite Cadillacs to restore. I loved the conservative trend Mitchell started, then add nice colors and white interior.

I just noticed he reposted and I also noticed this is a non A/C 1963 Cadillac convertible. I am not aware of how many 1963 Cadillacs did/did not have A/C but like an automatic transmission I figured it was pretty high - for having A/C.
Also noting this one has optional bucket seats and console. An interesting (non) combination.
66.0% of 1963 Cadillacs came equipped with Air Conditioning.
Interestingly, 79.4% of the 1963 Lincolns came with AC.
That's a 13.4% difference from Cadillac in 1963......
...... but......
There were a lot more AC units put in Cadillacs since their production numbers were much higher than Lincoln in 1963:
Of the 163,174 1963 Cadillacs produced, 107,695 came equipped with AC.
Of the 33,192 1963 Lincolns produced, 24,799 came equipped with AC.
So Lincoln has a considerably higher % of cars with AC, but approximately 80,000 more Cadillac drivers were riding around with AC than their Lincoln counterparts.
How many verts had AC? I think The percentage is a lot lower.

I would tend to agree that less convertibles probably had A/C. For me I see the ying and the yang of the to have or not to have A/C. Personally I would not want A/C. I think it adds complication in the restoration of a car like this that would need so much work. My convertible cruising months are April - June and October. I have a 1990 Buick Reatta convertible. Tan leather interior. When I do drive it in the hot humid months, my A/C is on.
It's kind of nice having cold air blow on you with the top down and it's pretty hot and humid out there. OTOH, a/c was not part of the equation before about 1958, and those owners do OK.
Phil Hill was once asked what car he would prefer to take a coast to coast drive across the country. This was about 2-4 years before this subject drop top came off the line. Now I don't know what the interviewer expected him to answer. Ferrari 250 ? Or a more comfortable and ergonomically responsible brand spanking new Maserati 3500GT ? Phil knew what we know , and responded : "An air conditioned Cadillac". Merry Christmas , everyone ! - Carl
