Every Grand National is different due to geography. Distance plays a role in cars that are driven to the event versus cars that arrive by trailer. The largest concentration of car owners usually means more cars turn out. This year location and economy played a factor in both groups. We were treated to a 1910 and a 1914 Cadillac, a number of beautiful pre-war cars, a stunning 1958 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, and a number of later model Cadillacs. Each Grand National is a new adventure. Host regions' line up interesting tours and events or you are welcome to explore on your own. Dress code varies by local and weather. This year naked would not have been cool enough-just kidding. When its 100 degrees in the shade- shorts, tee shirts and towels around your neck are appropriate. The final night's banquet is usually the only dress up affair- suits, sport coats, shirt and tie for men and nice dress or pant ensemble for ladies- even this is becoming relaxed more and more. Columbus, Ohio looks like another great one in the works. I'm sure Vince will have some great shots, he always does. I took about 80 pictures myself.

Thank you for the summary. It is good to know for the next GN.

If you could post some of your photos that would be great.

Dudley,

That's only the tip of the iceberg.  There will be 40 pictures in the August issue of the Caddie Chronicle along with my story.  Stay tuned!!

Once that is done, I will work on getting all of them posted on our website.

Hope to see you at our Fabulous Fleetwoods show in October.

She looks GOOD. Lauren is the (lovely) daughter of CLC members Ron and Marilyn Schweitzer from Chicago.
I have the address of a surgeon in Geneva who specilaizes in removing tatoos.
Considering the copyright on this script, Cadillac Motor Car Division may be asking Lauren for its "pound of flesh" !

The grille shot is my year, 1939.
The 1941 trunk emblem has been complemented (but not complimented) by a non-original Cadillac "V".
The chevrons below the 1948 Cadillac tail-light show that it belongs to the "Series 62". Those are the fins that started the craze !!!

I wonder why the custom wheel maker didn't line up the valve stem, ugly screw on the cap, and the Cadillac crest? It's attention to details like that that separate true craftsmen from shoemakers.

Yann,
They are beautiful cars and beautiful pictures.
I really love how those "copper engines" look like.

Regarding your quiz question....I am still thinking.  :)

Yann,

Thanks for the many photos; did a 55 Eldorado come from the factory in "yellow"?  What a stunning car.
