Ray, Can you ask your friend where he bought his Fan belt and perhaps the complete part number?
Thanks
Steve

Congratulations mate on another LaSalle returning to the road.
All good men own a Cadillac but great gentlemen drive a LaSalle. That is the consequence of success.

Hi,

Regarding the fan belt, purchased from www.allcads.com Item is fan belt to suit a 37 to 40 Caddy. Gates Belt, part number TR34435. Comment from my friend is this belt is 25 mm wide, almost too wide, could be 23mm, but will work at 25mm.

Can anyone help with the internals for the "honey pot", that the gear change goes into on the steering column.

Cheers

Ray

Steve - I just had to replace the one on my 38 - After seems like a dozen trip to O'Rilies Auto Parts they found one.  Ill look thru the stack of return reciepts and try and find the part #.  It was a Gates if I recall..

Ray - Nice looking ride!!! Just wondering - to all who may know - On my 38 the Tags are on the Left Side Tail light - Was the LaSalle on the Right?

The La Salle tag is only on the right because its in Aus and they drive on the left.
Regarding the belt Ray, Allcads actually sells the wrong one for 37-38. These were 1&1/8" for just those two years, thicker than your friend has rather than thinner, unless his pulleys have been changed from a later engine of coarse, considering doing that myself because the size and pitch is just unavailable here in the UK.

Hi Guys,

Any suggestions on where I could find the gear change linkages that connect inside the honey pot on the steering column on a 38.

Cheers
