Rich,
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but why would you sell something easily worth $900.00 for just about half price.  Is it real R-12, or possibly some of the Chinese Methyl Chloride they have sold as R-12?

Greg,
Hi. That's about the going rate for that tank. I've seen people asking $1000.00 for a tank, but you'd have to be crazy to spend that. Purchased a full un-opened tank of Dupont a few years ago. Need your EPA 608/609 certification card to purchase it. It's a fair price if you need it.

$1000.00 for a 30 pound drum is a legit price.  When R-12 first was limited (in production) countless thousands of "bootleg" drums of what turned out to be propellant came out of Mexico and China  were sold with counterfeited Dupont labels.  The refrigerant contained an extraordinary amount of moisture, given that it was not originally intended for anything but aerosol propellant.
At the $500.00 it puts it cheaper than R-134a. I PERSONALLY would be a bit skeptical.

Greg,
I agree…When the demand for something goes thru the roof, out come the counterfeit goods. >:D  Happens with everything. Buyer Beware.

I just bought a 30 pound tank of r-12 from a local mechanic  for $400.00. It's an older tank, not any Chinese knock off.

I can buy another one for $500.00.

The demand is not what you think due to all of the 134-a conversions.

Yes, there are $750 and $1000 prices too but he's offering a fair price for a sealed tank.

Brian,
Agreed….That's exactly what I paid…$400.00. Like I said, the price is fair if you need it. You can pass that bottle around with a few buddies and it's paid for.
